The Modified Maquet procedure is a variation of conventional TTA. The Modified Maquet procedure uses a wedge shaped implant of Orthofoam which defines the degree of advancement of tibial tuberosity and fixes the bone in its new place. It replaces the plate screw fixation described for conventional TTA. Orthofoam is made of titanium. The open porous structure of Orthofoam encourages early ingrowth of bone and removes the need to place graft. We at Serra Veterinary Hospital are offering this procedure for anterior cruciate ligament rupture repair in dogs.
